Burdock has the reputation for being a weed. Rumor has it that Velcro was created by a hunter who modeled it after the burrs that stuck to his pants after a hunting trip. The hunter might not have known, but burdock has medicinal qualities that help support the body.
Personal Story
My knowledge of burdock started in my youth. My dad was a farmer who didn’t like weeds to grow along with his corn or soybeans. We would take machetes and walk up and down the rows of the field hacking burdock and any other weeds that didn’t belong there. It was hot work, but we had some of the cleanest fields around when we finished! I didn’t know then that burdock was a plant that could be used as herbal medicine.
