About Joni Sellars,
Certified Clinical Herbalist
Joni is the founder of Lavender Path Wellness, a health and wellness company. She completed her Clinical Herbalist, Certified Women’s Health Educator, and Certified Family Health Educator Certification in 2014. She studied under Shonda Parker’s Naturally Healthy Herbalist Training Program. Her passion is to help busy families transform their lives with health and herbal knowledge.
Expertise
Joni helps families learn how to improve their health, how herbs can safely support their bodies, and how to become herbalists who help themselves and their clients on the path to a healthier life. She does this through consultations, classes, and her Lavender Path Wellness (LPW) Herbal School.
Consultations are available to help clients with these issues: family health, women’s health and pregnancy concerns, nutrition, food sensitivities, gardening, and organizing. Specific concerns can include nutritional deficiencies, digestive issues, stress, sleep, inflammation, immunity, ear infections, urinary tract infections, stomach bugs, among others. The main purpose of consulting is to have a certified clinical herbalist listen to concerns, research options to consider, and provide a wellness plan to consider as a step on the wellness journey. Wellness depends on the work that an individual is willing to do, and Joni meets clients where they are and personalized the wellness plan to help the client meet their goals.
Joni teaches classes that can help people transform their lives with health and herbal knowledge. These classes are held in-person or online. Topics of classes include immunity building, foundations of wellness, foundations of nutrition, foundations of herbalism, gardening basics, nutrition for children, men’s health, women’s health, pregnancy & herbs, managing food allergies, sleep management, stress management, making herbal preparations, tea blending, choosing supplements, and more.
Joni trains herbalists using her course, Journey Christian Herbalist Training Course, which she and another Certified Clinical Herbalist, Debby Sapp, revised and edited.
As a Certified Clinical Herbalist, Joni, through her LPW Herbal School, provides certificates of completion for the Family Herbalist, Community Herbalist/Certified Family Health Educator, Certified Women’s Health Educator, Certified Clinical Herbalist, and/or Professional Herbalist programs.
Client Practices
Joni carefully listens to her clients, reviews their health history, evaluates their food diary, helps identify concerns, and then she researches and provides wellness plans for them that provides education on related wellness topics. She meets with families to discuss options they might want to talk over with their healthcare provider.
Whether a client has been wanting to start a garden and doesn’t know where to start, or if they have tried to create a garden and it didn’t work out as planned, Joni is here to help. When she meets with a client for garden consulting, she asks questions to see what the client wants from their dream garden, provide education on how to start a garden, and sends the client a written garden plan to help them get started.
Additionally, her goal is to give education to consider while self-diagnosing and self-treating the over 80% of medical symptoms that can be handled without professional medical care. She encourages clients to work with a primary healthcare professional for any medical concerns.
Consultations can be held in person or virtually through a video call. Joni is also available to provide clarification on the Wellness or Garden plan as needed.
