Blog 102 The Best Bathroom Ever!

by | Jan 14, 2019 | Organization

What do you think of when you think of the best bathroom ever? Is it a large bathroom with skylights that fill the room with sunshine? Do you think of a jacuzzi with a ledge full of lit candles? While both could make an enjoyable space, what makes a bathroom fit the category of “best” is one that leads to better health. The bathroom needs to be clean. Getting organized with a cleaning method and the best tools for the job can create the “best bathroom ever.”

Personal Story

Cleaning bathrooms has never been my favorite task. I would rather clean any other room in the house. As I have learned more about health, I have realized the importance of having a clean bathroom. Learning a method and purchasing some tools has made a real difference in my attitude toward bathroom cleaning.

Clean

The method that helped me overcome my bathroom dislike is found in a book called Speed Cleaning, by Jeff Campbell and The Clean Team. While I have used the speed cleaning method throughout my home, the bathroom process made a real difference for me. I substitute cleaners that meet my requirements for healthy alternatives to the products recommended in the book.

You can get Speed Cleaning or look online for the specific process, but here is a summary of the general steps:

  1. Put the cleaning tote by the bathtub. Load apron.
  2. Clean shower
  3. Clean tub
  4. Rinse
  5. Clean sink inside
  6. Clean toilet inside
  7. Cleaning the outside of the sink
  8. Clean the outside of the toilet down to the floor
  9. Clean the floor

The process involves making every move count, working quickly and efficiently around the bathroom, and having tools that aid effective cleaning.

Tools

Purchasing these tools for the job has helped:

  • Cleaning cloths- no more torn-up t-shirts for me! I use 100% cotton table napkins.
  • Carry tray
  • Cleaning apron- really saves steps
  • Razor blade holder
  • Scraper
  • Quality spray bottles to mix up homemade cleaners in
  • Tile brush
  • Scrub pad/sponge
  • Rubber gloves

Getting the right tools for the job and having them handy makes cleaning the bathroom go much smoother.

Action

Put some effort into streamlining your bathroom cleaning method and you can be on your way to your best bathroom ever! This endeavor will be good for your health!

May God bless your healthful endeavors!
